Dr. Jignasa Mehta

Dr. Jignasa Pravinchandra Mehta has completed her B.E. (Mechanical) from L.E. College, Morbi. She was awarded two Gold Medals one in B.E. – Mechanical and one in overall engineering branches at Saurashtra University. She has completed M.E. (Machine Design) from BVM Vallabh Vidyanagar and Ph. D. (Mechanical Engineering) from Sardar Patel University. She has guided various research projects at both UG and PG levels. She has started her professional career with the ADICO Group, Rajkot as an Engineer. Prior to joining the Darshan University, she has worked at V.V.P Engineering College - Rajkot for 24 years and served as Professor and Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department for 12 years there. Currently, she is working as Professor & Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department of Darshan University as well as Dean of Darshan Institute of Engineering & Technology. She has published 18 papers in various reputed Journals & Conferences, she is also a member of the editorial board and reviewer for various international journals. Under her guidance, Skill based and industry-oriented Syllabus of Mechanical Engineering has been developed according to advance and recent technologies. Also, the department has developed and upgraded the laboratories well equipped with modern equipments. She has organized several Short-term training Programs for students and faculties. Under her leadership of her, as a part of CSR activities of different reputed industries, she received the fund to develop the advanced technology lab at Darshan University for the holistic development of students. At present, she is also working as an Independent Director of Rolex Rings, Rajkot. She has successfully qualified the Proficiency Assessment Test taken by Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs for Independent Directors Databank. She is a national swimmer. She secured ranks and was awarded medals in various state and national swimming competitions. She is also a triathlete. She secured the rank and was awarded medals in triathlon competitions also.
