With the goal to boost the quality of education, research, innovation, and technological advancement, the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 includes the promotion of high-quality research within the university system.
The main purpose of this Research and Development Cell Darshan University is to identify research thrust areas, construct research guidelines for the university's promotion of research, establish the initial stages associations, cluster groups, and collaborations for researchers, and create an organizational structure with role-based RDC activities.
The university has already developed a research policy that encourages innovation and research, with an emphasis on sharing the advantages of development and research results with stakeholders and the general public.
Vision:
To execute an effective framework that is in accordance with NEP-2020's recommendations for strengthening and enhancing the research the environment within university.
Mission:
- To promote an environment that will contribute to enhanced productivity in research.
- To encourage collaboration at the local, national, and international levels among organizations, government agencies, and community-based organizations.
- To facilitate research easier to access by enhancing funds and organizing resources.
Objectives:
- To identify research thrust areas, develop research policies for HEIs, establish relevant cluster groups, frontline teams, and consortiums of researchers; and to design an organizational structure with role-based functions of RDC.
- To include measures in Research Policies that facilitate the hiring of research staff, the purchase of equipment, and financial management, giving the Principal Investigator(s) sufficient autonomy, and the distribution of research findings to interested parties and the general public.
- To create an organization with a particular purpose to support researchers and innovators, identify opportunities for cooperation and synergistic alliances among industry, research organizations, academic institutions, and other stakeholders.
- Functioning the initial point of contact between researchers and relevant research funding organizations, providing advice on project application preparation and submission, and monitoring grant post-sanctioning to ensure efficiency.
- To improve coordination between various units/centers that handle intellectual property rights (IPR), incubators, university-industry linkage, innovation and entrepreneurship development, and other related topics.
- Creating an Institutional Research Information System to facilitate the exchange of information about ongoing and completed research projects, programs, resources, and expertise. This will involve utilizing Information and Communication Technology (ICT) effectively to prepare a database of internal experts who can offer industrial consultancy and services.
- To act as a nodal center for ideation and conceptualization of research topics/themes by organizing workshops and training programs and guaranteeing the integrity and ethical practices in research activities, including clearance of a bioethical committee where necessary.
- To engage and utilize the services of superannuated active faculty/scientists in research capacity building of talented young minds and promote mobility of researchers across institutions and R&D Labs.
- Faculty members and scholars are encouraged to participate in conferences, seminars, workshops, and faculty development programs organized by established national and international scientific, academic, research, and professional institutions and bodies by the Research & Development Cell of Darshan University.
- The Cell established a Center for Research, which offers Ph.D. programs. The R&D unit works with the university's office of the Controller of Examinations to coordinate the admissions process for each department.
It is hereby notified for the information of all concerned that the provost, in exercise of powers conferred upon him under Section 15(3) of the DU Act, has re-constituted the "Research Advisory Committee (RAC)" as below to facilitate effective implementation of different research activities in the university for the period of THREE years from the date of publication of this notification or till he/she holds the position by virtue of which he/she is nominated, whichever is earlier.

The Research Council shall have the following powers and duties:
- To formulate policies and guidelines for research activities, funding, and ethical considerations;
- To approve and monitor research projects, Ph.D. programs, and sponsored research initiatives;
- To recognize teachers of the university as Ph.D. supervisor;
- To facilitate collaborations with national and international research organizations, industries, and funding agencies;
- To oversee the establishment of research centers, incubation hubs, and innovation labs within the university;
- To regulate research integrity, including plagiarism checks, ethical clearances, and adherence to regulatory guidelines;
- To recommend financial and infrastructural support for research projects;
- To encourage patent filing, intellectual property rights (IPR), and technology transfer initiatives;
- To review the performance of research scholars, faculty research output, and research publications;
- To promote interdisciplinary research programs
- To undertake any other task as may be assigned by the university authorities so as to carry out objectives of the Research Council
International Journal of Darshan Institute on Engineering Research and Emerging Technologies
International Journal of Darshan Institute on Engineering Research and Emerging Technologies (IJDI-ERET) is an open access peer-reviewed international journal publishing high-quality articles related to all domains of engineering. The Journal is published by Darshan Institute of Engineering and Technology, Rajkot, India and has periodicity of six months. All the papers are blind reviewed to ensure the originality and relevance of the work and also to enhance the objectivity and fairness of the review process. The Journal has no publication fee and the accepted papers will be available on-line (free access). Journal in printed form is sent to the subscribers and is also distributed free among selected institutes and organizations for the benefit of the community.

Darshan - The International Journal of Commerce and Management
Darshan University is also a member of DELNET. DELNET has been established in 1988 by the Government of India with the prime objective of promoting resource sharing among the libraries through the development of a network of libraries. It aims to collect, store, and disseminate information besides offering computerised services to users, coordinate efforts for suitable collection development and also reduce unnecessary duplication wherever possible.

[3] Darshan Electrical Testing and Research Laboratory
Darshan Electrical Testing and Research Laboratory (DETRL) is a defined part of the Electrical Engineering Department (EED) at Darshan University. The Laboratory provides all industrial testing, research and development cutting edge technology solutions for Centrifugal Pumps, Induction Motors, Self-priming Pumps and Submersible Pumps.
DETRL is accredited by National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and it offers consultancy services in the field of Rotating Electrical Machines for Electrical Testing.
