It is hereby notified for the information of all concerned that the provost, in exercise of powers conferred upon him under Section 15(3) of the DU Act, has re-constituted the "Research Advisory Committee (RAC)" as below to facilitate effective implementation of different research activities in the university for the period of THREE years from the date of publication of this notification or till he/she holds the position by virtue of which he/she is nominated, whichever is earlier.

The Research Council shall have the following powers and duties:

• To formulate policies and guidelines for research activities, funding, and ethical considerations;
• To approve and monitor research projects, Ph.D. programs, and sponsored research initiatives;
• To recognize teachers of the university as Ph.D. supervisor;
• To facilitate collaborations with national and international research organizations, industries, and funding agencies;
• To oversee the establishment of research centers, incubation hubs, and innovation labs within the university;
• To regulate research integrity, including plagiarism checks, ethical clearances, and adherence to regulatory guidelines;
• To recommend financial and infrastructural support for research projects;
• To encourage patent filing, intellectual property rights (IPR), and technology transfer initiatives;
• To review the performance of research scholars, faculty research output, and research publications;
• To promote interdisciplinary research programs
• To undertake any other task as may be assigned by the university authorities so as to carry out objectives of the Research Council

A Consultancy Cell in a university serves as a dedicated unit that facilitates and manages consultancy services provided by the university's faculty and research departments to industry, government organizations, non-profits, and other external entities. It aims to leverage the academic expertise and research capabilities of the university to address real-world problems, promote knowledge transfer, and generate additional revenue for the institution.

[1] Civil Consultancy Cell

The Department of Civil Engineering has been in the forefront, since its inception, in offering its expertise to provide solutions to the field problems. Many public sector undertakings and private companies consult the Department for technical advice. Highly experienced and dedicated faculties are the icons of our Institute. The Department has also excellent interaction with various State and Central Government Departments and several Municipal bodies and Urban Development Authorities.

In this cost competitive globe for energy conservation in industry and commerce, the Electrical Engineering Department is running Energy Management Cell (www.emc.darshan.ac.in). We are an independent service provider that offers the most advanced and best in Energy Conservation Solutions with the thrust in the key areas of Energy Audit Services, Power Quality Audit Services, Electrical Safety Audit Services, Thermography, Electrical Earthing System Design and Measurement, Solar Power Plant EPC and Other Consultancy Services.

We have a successful and satisfied customer base of the products and solutions in the Commercial and Industrial segment. We are supported by the state-of-the-art infrastructure that further helps us in delivering quality services to clients. With world-class products and excellent services, DIET has been constantly innovating its services to suit the changing scenario and in keeping with this focus, has launched a specialized Energy Conservation Solutions to assist businesses with their various Power Quality risks. We engage ourselves in developing, installing and financing comprehensive performance-based projects.

[3] Darshan Electrical Testing and Research Laboratory

Darshan Electrical Testing and Research Laboratory (DETRL) is a defined part of the Electrical Engineering Department (EED) at Darshan University. The Laboratory provides all industrial testing, research and development cutting edge technology solutions for Centrifugal Pumps, Induction Motors, Self-priming Pumps and Submersible Pumps.

DETRL is accredited by National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and it offers consultancy services in the field of Rotating Electrical Machines for Electrical Testing.
