Skill Development and Research Centers

Center provide training on PV Solar system and supports allied research activities. This training center is approved by National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE), Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) and regularly conducts Government funded training programs. In year 2019-2020 around 115+ candidates have been trained on Solar PV Installer (SuryaMitra) course. DIET is pioneer and one among very few Engineering Institutes in Gujarat permitted to run this course.

Center has been setup in association with various industries and intends to cater vocational training for enhancing employability skills. The center is equipped with industrial grad training setups on PLC, HMI. SCADA, VFD, Servo & Stepper drives, analog and digital sensors, actuators, etc. Center is also recognized to run government funded training course on Industrial Automation Specialist under PMKVY Scheme, Government of India.

Center has been setup in association with IIT-Bombay, under e-Yatnra project of MHRD, Govt. of India. The center provides platform to students to experiment and learn principles and practices in engineering through fun activities and robot design. The center is equipped with required infrastructure and offers courses of different levels. Through this platform students and faculties participate in various competitions.

Center has been setup as a part of Tinkering Lab. under Student Start-up and Innovation Policy (SSIP), Government of Gujarat. The center not only provides training on IoT but also encourage students to take up various innovative projects and convert ideas into marketable products. The center is equipped with different IoT system development boards, accessories and services that helps students to experiment, develop and learn.
