National Service Scheme (NSS)
National Service Scheme (NSS) was introduced in 1969 with the primary objective of developing the personality and character of the student youth through voluntary community service. ‘Education through Service’ is the purpose of the NSS. The ideological orientation of the NSS is inspired by the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi. Very appropriately, the motto of NSS is “NOT ME, BUT YOU”. An NSS volunteer places the ‘community’ before ‘self’.

Mr. Jinesh Tank has been serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Darshan University since 2011. With over a decade of academic and administrative experience, he is deeply involved in guiding students beyond academics through social and community engagement.
Since 2021, he has been handling the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Darshan University, organizing various social outreach programs such as cleanliness drives, blood donation camps, rural development initiatives, awareness rallies, and annual special camps in nearby villages.
Under his coordination, the NSS Unit at Darshan University aims to cultivate a sense of social responsibility, discipline, and leadership among students, aligning with the NSS motto — “Not Me But You.”

- Registration is open for new entrants typically in Month of August/September every year.
- Announcement of the same is made on University Notice board & University Website.
- Students of 1st Semester are eligible for enrollment.
- Selection of Volunteers is on basis of first come first serve.
