Training Session on “Contouring and Levelling Survey”

The Department of Civil Engineering (DIETDS) conducted a specialized field training session titled “Contouring and Levelling Survey” for third-semester diploma students to strengthen practical surveying skills. The session familiarized thirty-one students with essential surveying instruments and techniques used in topographic mapping. Students were trained in systematic field data recording, including back sight and fore sight readings, to determine ground elevation variations accurately. Through hands-on use of professional equipment and preparation of contour maps, the training effectively reinforced theoretical concepts of geomatics. Overall, the session enhanced students’ precision, technical competence, and readiness for real-world applications in construction and land surveying.
