Frolic 2025: OPT-CON

  06 Sep 2025

The Department of Civil Engineering (DIET) organized an event “OPT-CON” as part of Frolic 2025, a technical competition focused on the intricacies of concrete technology and mix design. The primary objective was to enhance participants’ understanding of material gradation, aggregate blending, and the critical effects of water–cement ratios on structural integrity. Students were tasked with designing a concrete mix that optimized both workability and compressive strength while adhering to strict cost and resource utilization guidelines. The event provided a practical setting for thirty-one participants to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world engineering challenges, fostering innovation in construction practices. The team comprising Undhad Krish Rameshbhai and Chudasama Ketan Kisorbhai secured the top rank for their superior technical execution. This event effectively bridged the gap between academic learning and practical field application in civil engineering.
