Industrial Visit to Forman Metal Cast, Rajkot

The Department of Mechanical Engineering (DIETDS) organized an industrial visit to Forman Metal Cast, Rajkot for third-semester students to provide practical exposure to manufacturing processes. The visit aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and industrial application through firsthand experience in the sand-casting industry. During the visit, forty-nine students observed key operations such as pattern making, mold preparation, metal melting, pouring, and finishing processes including fettling and shot blasting. The session also enhanced students’ understanding of raw material handling, safety protocols, and quality practices relevant to defense and railway sectors. The industrial visit strengthened students’ technical competence and practical awareness, supporting the university’s objective of holistic technical education.
