Field Visit to Construction Site at Hadala Village

  24 Sep 2025

The Department of Civil Engineering (DIETDS) organized field visits to residential construction sites for first-semester students on 24 September 2025 and 29 September 2025 to provide practical exposure to fundamental construction practices. During the visits, students learned about the use of core construction materials such as cement, aggregates, and steel reinforcement, and observed the execution of structural elements including beams, columns, slabs, and RCC members, along with reinforcement detailing and construction sequencing. The sessions also covered masonry work, plastering techniques, alignment practices, and modern residential construction methods. Emphasis was placed on quality control, curing processes, finishing standards, and site safety practices, helping students relate theoretical concepts to real-time construction activities. The field visits effectively strengthened students’ practical understanding and bridged the gap between classroom learning and on-site experience.
