Expert Talk on "Research and Testing of Bituminous Mixes"

The Department of Civil Engineering (DIET) organized an expert talk on "Research and Testing of Bituminous Mixes" featuring Mr. Rajan Tank, a research scholar from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. Designed for Semester 5 students, the session provided a comprehensive examination of highway engineering with a specific focus on the critical role of bituminous mix design in constructing durable and safe roadways. Mr. Tank detailed essential research methodologies and advanced testing techniques, including Marshall Stability and Flow tests, to evaluate material behavior under varying load and temperature conditions. The discourse also covered sustainable innovations and performance-based evaluations in pavement technology. By integrating real-life case studies, the interactive session successfully motivated students to explore practical research avenues within the field of transportation engineering.
