The Department of Humanities and Science (DIET) organized a seminar on “English Proficiency for First-Year Engineering Students” for first-semester B.Tech. Computer Engineering students as part of its student development initiatives. Conducted by Dr. Nitin Chauhan, the session witnessed the participation of 267 students and aimed to strengthen English language skills for both academic and professional contexts. The seminar focused on enhancing communication skills, vocabulary, grammatical accuracy, and confidence in spoken and written English. Key discussions addressed the role of effective communication in technical education, common language errors, and preparation for placement interviews, along with an introduction to digital language-learning tools for self-directed practice. The seminar underscored the importance of English proficiency in the engineering and employment landscape, encouraging students to develop effective communication strategies early in their academic journey.
