Contouring and Levelling Survey

The Department of Civil Engineering, DIETDS organized a field-based practical activity on “Contouring and Levelling” at Jadeshwar near Wankaner for fourth-semester Diploma students. The activity provided 28 students with hands-on experience in tacheometric surveying and its practical applications. During the training, students learned to operate surveying instruments, measure horizontal and vertical angles, and collect field data for contour mapping. Under the guidance of faculty members, they analyzed elevation differences and prepared contour maps based on the collected data. The activity helped students understand the practical importance of contouring and levelling in Civil Engineering projects such as land development and route planning. It also strengthened their surveying, observation, and data analysis skills.
