Expert Talk on Design of Steel Structures

On January 6, 2026, the Department of Civil Engineering at Darshan Institute of Engineering & Technology successfully hosted an insightful expert talk focusing on the design of steel structures. The session was led by Mr. Mavani Vasu, a distinguished Civil and Structural Engineer from Kent Engineering India Pvt. Ltd., who provided undergraduate and postgraduate students with a comprehensive exploration of Industrial Pre-Engineered Buildings. Throughout the technical discourse, participants gained valuable industry-oriented perspectives on the end-to-end design process, including detailed load calculations and the practical application of STAAD.Pro for advanced structural analysis. By examining real-world consultancy practices such as moment and shear force design, the event effectively bridged the gap between theoretical classroom concepts and professional engineering applications. This initiative significantly enhanced the technical competence of the twenty-seven participants, ensuring they are better equipped to meet the evolving demands of modern structural design and industrial construction.
