An Industrial Visit to AAC Block Manufacturing Plant

  09 Feb 2026

The Department of Civil Engineering, DIET, organized an industrial visit to the AJ Smart Buildcon AAC Block Manufacturing Plant for second- and sixth-semester students. The visit was attended by 48 students and aimed to provide practical exposure to modern construction materials and manufacturing processes. During the visit, students observed the production process of Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) blocks, including raw material mixing, slurry preparation, cutting, and steam curing. Plant engineers explained the quality control measures followed during manufacturing and highlighted the benefits of AAC blocks, such as lightweight construction, thermal insulation, and fire resistance. The visit helped students understand the practical applications of sustainable building materials while connecting classroom learning with real-world construction practices. It also enhanced their awareness of modern technologies used in the construction industry.
