Industrial Visit to AAC Block Manufacturing Plant (AJ Smart Buildcon)

On February 9, 2026, the Civil Engineering Department of Darshan Institute of Engineering & Technology organized an insightful industrial visit to the AJ Smart Buildcon AAC Block Manufacturing Plant in Lodhika, Rajkot. This educational excursion provided 48 students from the second and sixth semesters with a comprehensive look into the production of Autoclaved Aerated Concrete, a sustainable and lightweight alternative to traditional building materials. Under the guidance of departmental faculty, participants observed the sophisticated manufacturing sequence, ranging from raw material mixing and slurry preparation to automated cutting and steam curing. Plant engineers further detailed essential quality control protocols and the specific structural advantages of AAC blocks, such as thermal insulation and fire resistance. By bridging the gap between theoretical classroom concepts and large-scale industrial practices, the visit successfully enhanced the students' understanding of modern construction technologies and sustainable engineering solutions.
