An Industrial Visit to UltraTech RMC Plant

  13 Feb 2026

The Department of Civil Engineering, DIET, organized an industrial visit to the UltraTech Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) Plant for fourth-semester students. The visit was attended by 32 students and three faculty members and aimed to provide practical exposure to modern concrete production and quality control practices. During the visit, students interacted with industry experts, including Mr. Anand Matalia, and learned about the processes of batching, mixing, and storing concrete materials. They observed the operation of storage silos and gained insights into quality control tests such as slump testing and cube testing. Students also learned about the properties of fresh concrete and the use of Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBS) as a binder material in concrete production. The visit helped students connect theoretical concepts with industrial practices while enhancing their understanding of modern construction technologies and standardized engineering procedures.
