Industrial Visit to UltraTech RMC Plant

On 13 February 2026, the Civil Engineering Department of Darshan Institute of Engineering & Technology (DIET) at Darshan University organized a comprehensive industrial visit to the UltraTech Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) Plant in Rajkot for its Semester 4 students. This departmental initiative focused on bridging the gap between theoretical classroom knowledge and real-world industrial applications within modern construction. Throughout the session, 32 students and three faculty members engaged with industry experts, including Mr. Anand Matalia, to explore the intricacies of batching, mixing, and the operation of storage silos. Participants observed critical quality control procedures such as slump and cube testing, while also discussing the properties of fresh concrete and the use of GGBS as a binder material. This practical exposure effectively enhanced the students' understanding of automated production technologies and standardized engineering practices, ensuring they are well-prepared for the evolving demands of the civil engineering sector.
