An Expert Talk on "Material Selection and Construction Supervision of Flexible Pavement"

The Department of Civil Engineering, DIET, organized an expert talk on “Material Selection and Construction Supervision of Flexible Pavement”. The session was conducted by Prof. (Dr.) Ujjval J. Solanki and was attended by more than 150 technical staff members and officials from the Rajkot Municipal Corporation. During the session, participants gained insights into the quality control practices followed in flexible pavement construction. The talk covered important aspects of road construction, including earthwork, bituminous layers, and the application of prime and tack coats. Participants also visited the university's laboratory facilities, where they observed testing procedures related to geotechnical investigations and construction materials. The talk highlighted the importance of scientific practices in developing durable and sustainable road infrastructure.
