An Expert Talk on Sustainable Cities & Communities

The Department of Civil Engineering at Darshan Institute of Engineering & Technology (DIET) hosted an insightful seminar entitled "Sustainable Cities & Communities" on 20th January, 2026, to advance student understanding of climate-responsive urban development. Organized as a departmental industry-academia linkage initiative, the session featured Dr. Bhavesh Joshi, Head of Civil Engineering at Mewar University, who provided expert guidance on the integration of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within modern urban planning. The curriculum-focused event addressed critical topics including green building concepts, architectural strategies for climate resilience, and emerging urbanization trends. Through this collaborative workshop, forty-six student participants and various faculty members engaged in meaningful discourse regarding the design of eco-friendly and future-ready urban environments. By highlighting resilient design strategies, the seminar successfully equipped attendees with the necessary knowledge to contribute to environmentally responsible and sustainable city growth.
