The Student Activity Center (SAC) – Literary and Fine Arts Wing, DU, organized the "Matrubhasha Divas Elocution Competition" through an online platform on 21 February 2026 to commemorate International Mother Language Day and celebrate linguistic diversity while promoting the richness of the Gujarati language. Students from various institutes of the University, including DIET, DICA, and DIS, enthusiastically participated in the competition. Participants delivered insightful speeches on topics related to the importance of the mother tongue, Gujarati language and literature, cultural heritage, and the need to preserve regional languages in a rapidly globalizing world. The event provided an excellent platform for students to showcase their public speaking abilities, strengthen their communication skills, and express their pride in their linguistic and cultural identity. The performances were evaluated based on diction, fluency, content, confidence, and presentation skills. Ms. Miral Joshi secured the first position, while Ms. Alifiya Ghoghari stood second. Mr. Ravi Khatana and Mr. Pankaj Solanki jointly secured the third position. Coordinated by Ms. Radhika J.
