A Technical Visit of Water Treatment Plant and Sewage Treatment Plant

The Department of Civil Engineering, DIETDS, organized a one-day technical field visit to the Water Treatment Plant, Nyari and the Sewage Treatment Plant, Raiyadhar, Rajkot for sixth semester students. The visit was attended by 29 students and aimed to provide practical exposure to water and wastewater treatment processes. During the visit, students observed key treatment stages, including sedimentation, filtration, aeration, and sludge management. Industry experts and plant operators explained the working of the treatment plants, maintenance practices, and the challenges involved in managing water and wastewater systems. The visit helped students connect classroom concepts with real-world engineering practices while enhancing their understanding of sustainable water resource management and environmental protection. It also provided valuable exposure to the practical applications of civil engineering in public utility services.
