A Technical Visit of Water Treatment Plant and Sewage Treatment Plant

The Diploma in Civil Engineering Department at Darshan Institute of Engineering and Technology for Diploma Studies organized a one-day technical field visit on 18 March 2026 to the Water Treatment Plant at Nyaari and the Sewage Treatment Plant at Raiyadhar, Rajkot. Conducted as part of outcome-based and experiential learning, the visit aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and practical applications in the domain of water and wastewater management. A total of 29 Semester 6 students participated in the activity, where they gained firsthand exposure to key treatment processes, including sedimentation, filtration, aeration, and sludge management. Industry experts and plant operators provided detailed insights into operational mechanisms, maintenance practices, and real-world challenges. The visit significantly enhanced students’ understanding of sustainable environmental practices and reinforced the importance of efficient water resource management in civil engineering.
