A Technical Field Visit to Water Treatment Plant and Sewage Treatment Plant

The Department of Civil Engineering, DIETDS, organized a one-day technical field visit to the Water Treatment Plant, Nyari, and the Sewage Treatment Plant, Raiyadhar, Rajkot, for sixth-semester students. The visit was attended by 29 students and aimed to provide practical exposure to water and wastewater treatment processes. During the visit, students observed key treatment stages, including sedimentation, filtration, aeration, and sludge management. Industry experts and plant operators explained the working of both treatment plants and their role in ensuring safe water supply and wastewater management. The visit helped students connect classroom concepts with real-world engineering practices while enhancing their understanding of sustainable water resource management.
