Field Visit to 400 kV Electrical Substation, Hadala for Practical Exposure

The Department of Electrical Engineering, DIETDS, organized an Industrial visit to the GETCO 400 kV Substation, Hadala, for Diploma Electrical Engineering students. The visit aimed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and practical industrial applications by providing firsthand exposure to high-voltage power transmission systems. During the visit, students observed the operation and maintenance of key substation equipment, including power transformers, conductors, circuit breakers, isolators, control panels, and DC battery systems. Industry experts explained the working of protection systems, relay monitoring, SCADA systems, and the importance of safety procedures followed in high-voltage substations. The visit helped students connect theoretical concepts with real-world practices, enhanced their understanding of power transmission and distribution systems, and strengthened their awareness of professional standards in the electrical power industry.
