The Department of Civil Engineering, DIETDS, organized a Construction Site visit to the Saurashtra Kalakendra Society, Rajkot, for second semester Diploma Civil Engineering students. The visit aimed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and practical field applications by providing students with firsthand exposure to construction practices. During the visit, students observed the implementation of building bye-laws and planning regulations, including setbacks, FAR/FSI, safety provisions, and site layout planning. They also interacted with industry professionals and gained insights into construction management, regulatory compliance, and sustainable building practices. The visit helped students connect theoretical concepts with real-world applications, enhanced their understanding of professional construction practices, and strengthened their knowledge of planning and development in civil engineering.
