Spot Speed and Traffic Volume Survey for Semester-5, Batch-2 Students

The Civil Department of the Darshan Institute of Engineering & Technology for Diploma Studies (DIETDS) recently organized a Spot Speed and Traffic Volume Survey for fifth-semester diploma civil engineering students. Coordinated by Mr. Meet B Sanghvi and Mr. Hiteshkumar H Jadav, this field-based learning initiative took place along the Rajkot-Morbi highway just outside Darshan University. The primary objective of the training was to equip participants with practical knowledge of traffic engineering analysis techniques. During the exercise, sixteen students utilized standard survey methods to meticulously record vehicle speeds and overall traffic volume at a selected road location. This hands-on activity successfully bridged the gap between theoretical classroom concepts of traffic engineering and actual road conditions. By participating in this comprehensive study, the students gained essential insights into the collection and utilization of basic traffic data, which is a critical foundation for effective road and traffic planning.
