Field Training Session on "Levelling and Contouring Survey"

The Department of Civil Engineering, DIETDS, organized a field training session on "Levelling and Contouring Survey" for third-semester students. The training focused on using the Dumpy Level to take Back Sight (BS) and Fore Sight (FS) readings, determine ground elevations, record field observations, and prepare data for contour mapping. 35 students participated in the hands-on training and practised essential surveying techniques. The session emphasized accuracy, systematic fieldwork, and the practical application of surveying concepts. It also helped students develop confidence in handling surveying instruments and strengthened their ability to apply classroom knowledge to real-world civil engineering tasks.
