Industrial Visit to Rajkot District Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd., Rajkot

The Department of Microbiology, Darshan Institute of Science, Darshan University, organized an industrial visit to Rajkot District Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd., Rajkot, providing B.Sc. Microbiology students with valuable practical exposure to large-scale milk processing, quality assurance, food safety standards, and microbiological quality control. The visit familiarized 49 students with various stages of dairy operations, including milk processing, quality practices, and the journey of milk from processing to the final product. Mr. Nimesh Baxi, Marketing Manager, explained the operational and quality aspects of the dairy industry, offering students insights into real-world industrial practices. The visit also included an interaction with Shree Gordhanbhai P. Dhameliya, Chairperson, who encouraged students to gain practical knowledge through industry exposure. Overall, the experience enabled students to connect academic concepts with industrial practices while enhancing their understanding of opportunities and professional practices in the dairy and food industry.
