Department of Mechanical Engineering was invited for an exposure visit at BIS Office and an industrial visit was organized by BIS at Ultracab (India) Limited. for the students of B.E. 4th semester on 26th May 2022.

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is the National Standards Body of India under the Department of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, and Government of India. BIS has been providing traceable and tangible benefits to the national economy in a number of ways providing safe, reliable quality goods; minimizing health hazards to consumers; promoting exports and import substitutes; controlling the proliferation of varieties, etc. through standardization, certification, and testing. During the visit to the BIS office, students get knowledge about the history of BIS, how BIS works, and about standard formation by the scientist of BIS. 

Ultracab is a leading manufacturer of quality products in Electrical Wires & Cable according to BIS Standards. Students observed wire drawing and plastic extrusion processes for cable manufacturing during the visit. Students also learned the process of testing and inspecting cables.
