Department of mechanical engineering organized industrial visits for the students of the 3rd, 5th & 7th semesters on 29 & 30 August 2022 at Wanakbori Thermal Power Station – GSECL and Rhino Machines Private Limited.
Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL) was incorporated in August 1993 and is registered under the Companies Act, 1956 with the objectives to initiate a process of restructuring of Power Sector and to mobilize resources from the market for adding to the generating capacity of the State and improving the quality and cost of existing generation.
Rhino evolved in 1991 into a fully-fledged manufacturing firm that produces conventional Green Sand, Pouring and Centrifugal Casting Products. In 1995, Rhino machines collaborated with a French company 'Fondarc' to further strengthen their capabilities while bringing the latest technologies to local markets.
During the visit, students observed various units of power station i.e., Power Generation, Ash Utilization, Cooling Tower and also learned about the Green Sand process, Sand preparation & re-conditioning equipment, Moulding & Pouring plants and Centrifugal casting machines.
