Industrial Visit at Sikka Thermal Power Station

The Department of Electrical Engineering organized an industrial visit at “Sikka Thermal Power Station” for the 3rd and 5th semester diploma students on July 10, 2024.
The purpose of this visit was to give students a hands-on look at how a thermal power station works, showing them how electricity is made from heat energy. During the industrial visit, students learned about the basic working principles of a thermal power station, the operations and maintenance practices of the power station, safety measures, and how generated power is transferred to the next stage. Students also visited the switch yard of the thermal power station. In the switch yard, students saw different types of devices that are used to transfer power.
