An Industrial Visit to Hilton Velocity Project Site

  24 Jan 2025

Semester 2 students from the Civil Engineering Department had an enriching experience observing a large-scale mass concrete pouring activity at the Hilton Velocity Project Site. The project involved a 100,000 sq. ft. raft foundation using M25 grade concrete. The execution utilized advanced equipment, including 2 boom placers and 3 concrete pumps, to ensure efficient and uniform placement of concrete.

The concrete supply was managed by RJ Concrete, Greenclif Concrete, and Gayatri Concrete, showcasing excellent coordination among suppliers. The activity was completed in approximately 20 hours, requiring precise planning and teamwork.

This site visit offered students valuable insights into the technical and logistical challenges of large-scale construction projects, enhancing their understanding of field practices, equipment usage, and coordination in infrastructure development.
