Awareness Session on Spine Health in Young Individuals

  05 Nov 2025

  • Humanities and Science Department of Darshan University organized a Session on Spine Health in Young Individuals at Auditorium 2, G-Block on 7th August 2025. The session was specifically arranged for B.Tech. 1st semester students.
  • The session was organized as part of the institution’s wellness initiative to encourage healthy lifestyle practices from the early stages of academic life.
  • Dr. Trishant Chotai highlighted a growing concern: young individuals are increasingly developing spine related problems due to modern lifestyle habits, like prolonged screen time, poor posture and sedentary behaviours.
  • Alarmingly, even conditions once considered age related, like slipped discs and cervical spondylitis, are now being diagnosed among young adults, fuelled by poor ergonomics and lifestyle patterns.
  • The session successfully raised awareness about the importance of spinal health, especially in the context of academic stress and lifestyle changes. Students gained valuable insights into maintaining a healthy spine and were encouraged to adopt long-term habits for overall well-being.
