FDP on Industrial Automation and Industry 4.0 at Darshan Institute of Engineering & Technology, Rajkot during 25th - 30th November, 2019

Department of Electrical and EC Engineering organized one-week Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Industrial Automation and Industry 4.0 during 25-30 Nov., 2019. FDP was supported by Gujarat Technological University(GTU) and approved by ISTE.
The objective of the program was to educate the participants in the field of industrial automation from level of introduction to application. This involved study and use of PLC, HMI & Motor Drives in contemporary automation technologies and related applications. The program received participation from 30 faculties from various institutes across Gujarat region.
The program had a blend of theory and hands-on sessions which were conducted by invited experts and faculties from the host Departments. Few of the invited speakers include Dr. Hiren Patel, SVNIT Surat, Ms. Madhavi Wadurkar, Bharat Bijlee Ltd., Dr. Dhaval Bhojani, GEC Rajkot, Mr. Kuldeep Vyas, Inter Care Solutions Pvt. Ltd, Mr. Kishan Govani and Mr. Tejas Prajapati, Autobits Labs Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Kishan Patel, Patson Enterprise and Prof. Rakesh Oza, Atmiya University Rajkot. Experts covered various topics related to PLC, HMI, VFD, Industry 4.0 – concept, architecture, scope and challenges, Industrial gateways and future trends in Industrial Automation.
Hands-on session also included live case study at automatic motor and pump testing NABL laboratory at institute campus as well as visit to Ferris Spintex – automation at spinning mill at Morbi.
