An Industrial Visit at Amul Chocolate Plant

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, DIETDS, organized an industrial visit to the Amul Chocolate Plant, Anand, for fifth-semester students to provide practical exposure to modern food processing and manufacturing operations. During the visit, 28 students, accompanied by two faculty coordinators, observed the chocolate manufacturing process, including raw material handling, mixing, refining, conching, tempering, moulding, cooling, packaging, and quality inspection. Students also gained insights into production machinery, automation, material handling systems, maintenance practices, quality assurance, and industrial hygiene. The visit helped students connect mechanical engineering concepts with real-world applications while enhancing their understanding of safety, quality, and industrial practices in a manufacturing environment.
