Rapid Prototyping Lab

Rapid Prototyping is a technology that can automatically generate physical models from Computer-Aided Design (CAD) data. The ‘3D printers” equipped in this lab allow students to create robust physical prototypes of their designs, rather than just 2D/3D pictures or CAD models. This facility is extensively used by students to work on various industrial consultancy projects and their final year project under the guidance of highly experienced and skilled faculties. The application areas of this technology to building functional prototypes are patterns for casting, Reverse Engineering, Medical, Biocompatible materials, Aviation, Construction, Jewelry Design, and many more.

Pneumatics & Automation Lab

The pneumatic systems are extensively used in the industries. In the Pneumatics lab, students get a deep knowledge of handling and operating of pneumatic control circuits, valves, sequence-circuits, the sequence of motion and switching conditions, methods for constructing a circuit diagram, design, and operating principles of a cascading system, etc. The main objective of this lab is to familiarize students with the type of automation that can be achieved with pneumatic devices. Pneumatics is widely used in any Automation Industry, Automobile Applications, Material Handling, Construction Industry, Defense, Agriculture, etc.

Calibration Cell & Measurement Lab

The main objective of this lab is to provide a platform to the students for the learning of internationally accepted standards, measuring instruments, calibration techniques, GD&T, and drawing reading. Students can perform hands-on practice with different mechanical measuring instruments and master equipment, which are being used in the industries for the real application with accuracy & precision. Metrology Lab plays a crucial role for a student who wants to pursue his career in Quality Control.

Mechanical Calibration Cell at Darshan Institute of Engineering & Technology has been granted accreditation by National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 in the discipline of mechanical measurement, which includes the test of Vernier Caliper, External Micrometer, Height Gauge, Dial Indicator, and Bevel Protractor.

Computer-Aided Design Lab

The CAD lab provides a digitally integrated environment where the students can design, analyze, simulate, generate CNC codes, and build models. With the help of CAD software available in the lab, students can present their ideas into drawings in the form of 2D/3D models and can explore new possibilities in the mechanical engineering design. This lab is widely used for Solid/Surface Modeling, Drafting and Detailing, Reverse Engineering, Design Simulations, Product Synthesis, and Analysis, Structural, Thermal, and Flow Analysis, Optimization.

Dynamics of Machines

Dynamics is a combination of kinematics and kinetics. A Mechanism is a combination of rigid or resilient bodies joined together to provide a specific absolute motion. Fluid Mechanics and Machinery Lab

Fluid mechanics can be studied when fluid at rest and fluid in motion. The prime objective of this lab is to impart the experimental skills in flow measurement in pipes and channels as well as to verify the performance characteristics of pumps, turbines, and compressors which are used in most industries. This laboratory is also providing hands-on training to the students on maintenance & troubleshooting of various pumps like a centrifugal pump, submersible pump, coolant pump, vane pump, gear pump, etc. This subject has applications in a wide range of disciplines, including mechanical, civil, chemical, and biomedical engineering and biology, etc.

Robotics Lab

The importance of automation and robotics is increasing nowadays. The Robotics Lab at Darshan Institute of Engineering & Technology has been set up in association with IIT Bombay, under the e-Yantra project of MHRD, Govt. of India. The center is equipped with various robotic kits, testing kits, programming software, and all other required infrastructures. Students get training in VLSI and Embedded systems, PLC/SCADA Programming, Microprocessor based programming, and modern trends like Arduino and Raspberry pie to develop robots for various automation systems. The application of this lab is observed everywhere like, Manufacturing, Military, Health Service, Surveillance, Medical, Hazardous Environment, Underwater, Space, and remote locations.
