About Research Council

It is hereby notified for the information of all concerned that the provost, in exercise of powers conferred upon him under Section 15(3) of the DU Act, has re-constituted the "Research Advisory Committee (RAC)" as below to facilitate effective implementation of different research activities in the university for the period of THREE years from the date of publication of this notification or till he/she holds the position by virtue of which he/she is nominated, whichever is earlier.

The Research Council shall have the following powers and duties:

To formulate policies and guidelines for research activities, funding, and ethical considerations;
To approve and monitor research projects, Ph.D. programs, and sponsored research initiatives;
To recognize teachers of the university as Ph.D. supervisor;
To facilitate collaborations with national and international research organizations, industries, and funding agencies;
To oversee the establishment of research centers, incubation hubs, and innovation labs within the university;
To regulate research integrity, including plagiarism checks, ethical clearances, and adherence to regulatory guidelines;
To recommend financial and infrastructural support for research projects;
To encourage patent filing, intellectual property rights (IPR), and technology transfer initiatives;
To review the performance of research scholars, faculty research output, and research publications;
To promote interdisciplinary research programs
To undertake any other task as may be assigned by the university authorities so as to carry out objectives of the Research Council
